Guido Mine

Guido Mine

The Guido Mine is a unique attraction on a European scale. It was founded in 1855 and after mining it served as an experimental mine and a drainage hub. It is the flagship venue of the Industrial Monuments Route, a place of unique events and excellent attractions. Through the railway shaft, tourists descend to levels 170, 320 and the K8 zone. So you can see the deepest coal mine tourist route in Europe and dine in probably the deepest Pub in the World. The mine galleries lead visitors to large masonry chambers containing a rich exhibition of mining tools, lamps, rescue equipment and an interesting geological exhibition. Level 320 offers Europe's only suspended mine train, open to the public. A tourist equipped with a miner's helmet and a lamp will see how a powerful roadheader works, walk along a unique 300-tonne raw coal container or descend into the depths of the excavation and touch the “vein of black coal”.
